CCT Conference Grant - Call for Global South Applicants
Deadline for applications: May 9, 2023
Consumer Culture Theory Consortium (CCTC) is pleased to announce the availability of funds to support CCT scholars presenting their work at the 2023 CCT conference in Lund, Sweden. Given the lack of virtual attendance possibility and the relatively high costs involved in hosting a conference in Sweden, the CCTC Board has approved $10,000 in grants to cover conference fees for a number of candidates from the Global South. This means that for those who obtain the grant, the Consortium will cover the full conference fee and annual CCTC membership [8 322 SEK (approx. $803 USD) for faculty and 4 560 SEK (approx. $440 USD) for doctoral students].
Please only apply if you do not have the financial resources to cover registration, so we can fund as many applicants as possible. The deadline to apply is May 9th, 2023.
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
Accepted work at the conference (any track)
Home institution in the Global South (Americas, except Canada and the USA; Africa; Asia - including Turkey, minus Asian Russia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, China, Japan and Korea).
Supporting letter from Department Chair or Dean, or Dissertation Chair indicating financial need (e.g., lack of full funding from alternate sources)
The applications will be assessed by the CCTC presidency and grants managed by the CCTC executive secretary and treasurer. We will disperse grants to all who meet the criteria until the funding limit is met, on a first-come-first-served basis. If you have not yet registered for the conference, the CCTC treasurer will coordinate with you to register you for the conference. If you have already registered for the conference, the CCTC treasurer will coordinate with you to reimburse your registration fee.
